The historic town of Paro in western Bhutan welcomes you with views of eastern Himalayan peaks Admire the lush valley and stop into a beloved dzong.

2 – 3

Journey to Punakha, Bhutan’s ancient capital Take a short hike to a storied small temple dedicated to the Divine Madman and visit Punakha's massive, river-side fortress.

4 – 5

A scenic drive to Phobjikha Valley takes you into a pine-covered mountain vale, home to wild boars, leopards, Himalayan black bears, and black-necked cranes Visit a 17th-century monastery.

Continue east to arrive in lesser-visited Bumthang Encounter artisan traditions and talented weavers and Bhutan's astrological legacy with a local expert A drum ceremony at a hilltop monastery is an unforgettable experience.
